I’m blessed with Scots-Irish heritage. In particular, I’m blessed with the sort of skin that doesn’t quite know what sunshine is, or how to cope with it. There were probably 500 generations of my family that never saw the sun. The result is that – much to my friends’ delight – I could sunburn in 10 degrees centigrade, in February, in a dense forest. Wearing a coat. And so, while I jump with joy when Summer comes and warm weather starts to return, it also brings with it that knowledge that I’m about to face months of UV hell.
To poke a bit of fun at my own expense, and to also provide a sense of what it feels like to be a sensitive little flower in the sunshine, I created the above ad for a suntan lotion brand. I hope it makes sense 🙂
